Changing your toilet bowl - Things your should know...

Hi there, if you plan to change your toilet bowl, you need to know to following.

1) The type of Trap. The trap is the bend in the toilet pipe that gets rid of the waste, and keeps smelly sewer gases from coming up into your bathroom. An S-trap pan has a waste pipe that's connected to the floor; the P-trap pan pipe connects directly to the wall.

2) P trap is usually 180 - 190mm from the floor to the centre of the wall outlet. As for S trap, you have to measure from the wall to the centre of the outlet. It varies from 100mm, 160mm, 180mm, 200mm, 250mm, 280mm, 300mm and 540mm. These are some of the trap distance we have encountered. If you have something that is abnormal and out of the norm, do let us know. We will figure something out for you.

3) You also would want to know whether you want a siphonic model or a washdown model.

Siphonic -  The siphonic system uses vacuum to pull waste from the toilet bowl into the trap. This is done by the shape of the trap acting as a siphon. When you push the flush button, the flapper outlet releases water into the toilet bowl in two ways; firstly through small holes around the seat rim to clean the bowl and secondly through the ‘siphon jet-hole’ which shoots water into the trap, initiating the siphon effect.

Washdown - The washdown system uses the weight and gravity force of the water to push waste out from the toilet bowl.

A Siphonic model will be quieter compare to a washdown model.

4) YOUR BUDGET and the brand of sanitary wares that suites your taste.

These are some of the toilet bowls we have changed for our customers.
